Markyboy

I have recently built a new system consisting of the
following components :-

MSI M/B KTV4
Athlon XP2500+
512MB PC2700
Exair Geforce4 64MB AGPx8 MX440
Samsung ATA133 40GB H/D

I have 19" monitor with no previous problems.

Graphics and text are slightly blurred and out of focus.
The BIOS settings are correct and the latest drivers are
installed. I have tried three different graphics cards,
three monitors and re-installed Windows XP but the
problem still persists.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Thankyou.

Do you have an LCD? If so, is it set at it's native resolution? If
not, try changing the LCD to its native res.
If you don't have an LCD, then I would suggest trying moving your monitor
and pc to a different place in the room or a different place in the house.
This way, you can make sure there isn't any interference from local to the
machine. I've never seen interference do exactly what you are describing,
but I'd seen older monitors display some strange behavior. Then, when I
move them a few feet, they get better. Usually there is an electrical line
near where there were.

Good luck,

Mike

Thanks for the response Mike.

I do not have an LCD monitor and the problem is the same
on different monitors in different places (even in my
local computer store). It is really annpying me.Do you
think it could be the motherboard ?

I suppose it could be anything inside the case, really. The motherboard
might be the most likely culprit, but perhaps the power supply is putting
off some sort of interference? I mean, I've never heard of anyone having
that problem, but with electricity, anything is possible. I might try a
different powersupply first, since it would be easier to replace (and
cheaper, too). Then, if that didn't solve it, I might try a new
motherboard. Of course, there is also the possibility that something is
strange about your actual case or the way that the board is seated within
the case. Again, this is very unlikely, but who knows?

Good luck finding your problem. Please post a reply if you ever find the
problematic part.

Mike
