System overview, AMD athlon 64 3200+ 2.2ghz, with twin 150gb hard discs, 1 gb ram, 256mb video card (Radeon 9600 series - shows up on device manager as primary and secondary) running windows XP sp2 and directx 9.0c.

Have recently developed a problem whereby in gameplay the picture disintegrates into either blocks or triangles. It started as just a little bit of red on the screen but now the screen is not visible at all. All other graphics applications, i.e. videos, photo's, quicktime applications etc etc all work fine.

I have so far: downloaded the up to date drivers
Run an application called Dr Hardware which cannot find any problem
Purchased a program called registry mechanic which has fixed a few errors.

I have attached a screenshot of the kind of thing that is happening.

I would very much appreciate your help gang.

Spuds.

Re Graphics rendering problem

Yes in all games. And also having just come back to my PC I have just noticed that my screensaver (a 'Matrix' one) was similarly affected now as well.

Eeek I think this is creeping this fault whatever it is....

Right the different drivers haven't worked, still the same prob. Having just taken the side of the computer (yes it's got that bad) it appears to be very hot in the case, althjough I have no way of measuring exactly how hot. So anyway gang, I think I need to call a man that can so thanks for all your help and assistance to date.

Take care

Simple trick is to use a desk fan ... have it blow into the side of the case, with the side off of course.

;)
