RC1 5600, 1Gig DDR Ram, Dual 64Bit 4400, SATA X2 300Gig, 512MB DDR PCI
Express GForce 6600.

After installing Vista my Graphics card now has 780MB Ram.?

Why is my first Question, As if 512Ram was not enough.?

Cheers

Your card does not have 780Mb, it's System memory that gets used by the card
IF needed.
All the cards of 250 and 512Mb do it.

I have a Graphics issue...I have just installed an nVidia 5600 card with 512
MB of ddr2. Need for Speed Most Wanted plays like CRAP unless the resolution
is at 800x600 and most of the settings are lower. This is completely
unexpected. XP played the game better and my card on that computer was only
128MB. The game also rams up my physical memory usage, sometimes using over
550MB. Shouldn't the video card be handling this? My friend says it's
because Vista doesn't do graphics/gaming stuff very well. I should hope not!
I'm open to any suggestions!!!
Windows Vista Build 5600 RC 1
Intel Core2Duo 2.13 Ghz
1 GB Ram
250 SATA
512 MB nVidia

See what happens when you buy Vista when it is on sale in stores.
ALL graphics card drivers are Beta still and very basic.

That's not true...the two big graphics cards mfr (ATI and nVidia) have had
gold versions of 32-bit Vista drivers since the first or second week in
November. Don't believe me? Visit their sites and check out the publish
dates for yourself on their download pages.

What do you mean by "very basic"? The WDDM has an advanced model when
compared to non-WDDM drivers.
