Are graphics filters an option somewhere in the powerpoint installtion?

I've tried JPEG, PNG and GIF but some (1 in 50) installations don't have
them.

(i know this because my application causes powerpoint to crash on
slide.export())

Reinstalling Powerpoint isn't fixing the issue ... at leat not leaving it
to default settings and i don't remember seeing them anywhere in a custom
install.

Is it possible to download and install the filters separately?

TIA

What are you trying to export you slides into? Which version of PowerPoint
are you using?

I replied in the Dev forum, Nigel. Check there for a few followup questions if
you would.

Reply either there or here.

Michael,

as best i can tell on some powerpoint installations slide.export() will
cause powerpoint to crash. My application then gets an error "remote
procedure call failed".

i'm exporting as jpg, png, gif and/or bmp - all fail. This can happen on all
versions of powerpoint found in the wild - people are downloading my s/w
from tucows and download.com so i have little knowledge of their systems and
there's only so much debugging i can do before they lose interest.

This happens rarely (one in 50 PCs perhaps) but enought to be a nuisance.

Seems to happen with all versions of powerpoint (well, i've not seen it in
2007 yet).

A previous posting here (perhaps 2 years ago) got a response from Microsoft
that the issue was to do with graphics filters being missing and i should
tell customers to reinstall powerpoint. (Which didn''t help)

It seems to be that on any one installation it either always works or always
crashes. i.e. not something i can recreate at will or have ever seen 'go
away'.
Although that may have just changed - i don't know for sure but a recent
downloader of my s/w may have just encountered this as an intermittent
problem.

How about posting a link to your software so we can take a look. I have not
experienced any problem exporting any PowerPoint presentation to image files
regardless of the extension.

Nigel;

Will download, and give you program a try, and get back with my results. But, It will not be until I return on Monday or Tuesday.

Look under Shared Office Tools. I think graphics filters might be there in a
custom install. I know I've seen them.

Ah, here. Office Shared Features, Converters and Filters, Graphics Filters.
