Everytime i remove nvidia drivers and even use Detonator
R I P i can not load new drivers. As soon as windows
starts it automaticly loads drivers for the card. I don't
even get the hardware wizard up to cancel it. When i go
to install older drivers ( the new ones are horrable) I
keep getting an error to uninstall the ones i have. this
is a never ending circle and would like to know if there
is a way to stop windows from automaticly loading these
drivers

Hi

First, download the latest detonator drivers version 53.03 WHQL from nvidia.com and save it to a specific folder
Change the resolution to VGA mode and reboot
After reboot and the display is in VGA mode, remove the existing display driver using the add or remove program then reboot
Now, temporary disable the antiVirus software, open the specific folder and double click the nvidia driver icon to install the drivers. After reboot, the new drivers should be installed properly (you can verify this in the device manager); change the display resolution at your desire

Hope it helps

Pete

That is all fine and well for win9x machines but what about winXP. I have
been trying to update my Matrox 400 drivers for a few days now. I have used
the Matrox uninstall, the XP uninstall, etc to no avail. The problem seems
to lie in the reboot. Once I have set to VGA and uninstalled the drivers,
after the computer reboots, winXP decides to install the drivers on its own.
And not the updated ones. If anyone can tell me how to get around this
"autoinstall", that would be great.

Thank in advance,
Paul
