Graphics do not display

Hi--
(I don't know if this is the appropriate newsgroup for this problem)

Lately, when surfing the net, there are far too many graphics that do not
display. All I get are the empty boxes with the little red x's where the
picture should be. Is this a problem with IE 6 and if so, how do I fix it?

Thank you Frank--I followed the instructions you referenced and things seem
to be working A-OK now.
