Graphics do not always display

After installing IE 6 into my W98 PC, sometimes some
graphics in the browser window do not display. I see only
the blank space with the small red cross. Right clicking
and selecting 'Show picture' does not work. This problem
only occurs about once in every five boot-ups. I also
downloaded the Java add-in from Microsofts web-site but
this did not make a difference. If it occurs, I simply
shut down and cold boot and this fixes (warm re-booting
does not fix it). I thought is was only IE 6, but after
installing Adobe Photo Elements, the exact same problem
occurs concurrently with the web browser.

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
If still no joy then have a look at this page for other issues.

Please see my post on 12/08/03 titled "Finally a REAL fix for IE not
loading small GIF images!!!" and see if that helps you. None of the MVP
or MS supplied "solutions" did a thing to fix the problem for me, till I
found this answer. Let us know if it works for you.
