Graphics card update

I recently updated my graphics card & all associated drivers from a 64Mb
GeForce2 MX, to a 128Mb Radeon 9200SE. Ever since my PC has to be running
much slower & there is frequent distortion to any sound that may be playing.
Is this likely to be caused by the (so called) upgrade? Could someone kindly
provide me with a solution to return my PC to it's former glory.

Many thanks.

I would double check to make sure you've got the most current drivers for
your video card (oftentimes the drivers that ship with the hardware are not
the most current -- go to the manufacturer's website to find more current
ones).

Also: did you uninstall the NVidia software before installing the ATI stuff?
If not, do so, including drivers and extra software.

Also make sure all your hardware (video *and* audio) is properly seated in
the computer, including cabling (something could have been jarred loose
during the install).

And lastly, make sure you have the most current drivers installed for your
soundcard.

Oh, and paint your computer hot neon pink. This should help with the
"former glory" bit.

I have a 9200 128mb ATI card too and it is working great for my pc. I agree
with Linda B that the user must make sure that everything in association with
the older graphics card is removed. Feel free to reply back if you have
trouble in accomplishing these tasks.
