Graphics bug?

Hi - When I run certain applications, such as games played in RealArcade or
graphics programs eg Scion Image, CPU usage jumps to 100% and stays there as
long as the program's running. I don't have any idea where to begin with this
one. Can anybody help?
I'm running XP Home Edition on an Acer Aspire 1310.
 
Always try to download and install the latest available video card drivers.


Take a look in Device Management so as to see the model of video card
listed.
 
Thanks Yves. I tried that, but installing the latest driver caused some other
problems (the machine wouldn't boot up) and I had to roll back. Even when the
driver (S3 Graphics ProSavage DDR, driver version 6.14.10.25) was
uninstalled, the same problem occurred.
Any other suggestions?
