Hi:
I have a generic logo created in Word. The first Letter
is larger than those that follow but the top of all the letters
are in line and there are some lines under the following letters.
Can I save and display this in FP 2003 without a graphic program?
If not are there any inexpensive graphic programs I could use.
Not being a web page builder I'm trying to stay away from the high
end programs.

Thanks
TK

You can, but it will only display properly in IE.
It's best to take a screen shot of the word art and then use an image editor to cut out
the word art and save it as an image.

A good "free" image editor is IrfanView www.irfanview.com

Word, not being a image editor, you probably just have a text logo. With Word opened to your logo try doing a Print Scrn (button on your keyboard) this will take an image shot of your whole screen, then Open Paint or whatever image editor you do have and Paste, then you can crop edit save it as a jpg.

You will need an image editor sometime down the road.

Thanks: Steve, Rob

I looking into your suggestions.

Rob are you the "Crash Gordon" that used to drive Nascar?

A while back, I managed to create a logo in word and turn it into a .jpg, but
I remember having to jump through many hoops to get there, and the finished
product was sketchy at best. I can't remember how I did it, but like the
others have said, I'm sure I probably ran it through some image editor at
some point.

Have you heard of the gimp? Its a great FREE image editor. It has tons of
features and scripts. It's not all that user friendly, but I would check it
out...

If you're willing spend a little money ($30), there is "the logo creator".
I don't know if many people use this, but for the "non-designer" it has a lot
of easy to use features. They have their own support forum which is always
helpfull, and there is also a free trial...

No, I'm the Crash Gordon who's W95 machine had to be formatted on a weekly basis due to my addiction to beta-testing :-)

logo creator is great for one thing...creating logos.
i think gimp is only linux.

adobe photo elements, paint shop pro, ulead are better choices for web work.

For sure... I use adobe ps now, but if you aren't looking to spend any
money, the gimp does the job. I used it (on windows xp) for 8 or 10 months.
Given, I'm not very good, and I don't do anything crazy, but it's great your
simple graphics needs.

Anyway, My two cents...

Here is the link for the Gimp for Windows...

Yah I use old PS6 still.

I had wanted to try gimp a while back but didn't have a linux box, thanks for the tip...didn't know there was a windos version.

It's worth the 20 bucks too, even though it's limited scope.

If you want to try an outstanding (a little pricey) graphics program try Xara X1 (they have a trial version). It's awesome for vector graphics and relatively easy. I use it now instead of Illustrator.

Not there's versions for the Mac and Windows
