graphic transparency does not show

the transparency in png and alpha tiffs does not work in
my powerpoint xp but same graphic is fine in ppt 2000, I
am experienced and the graphic is correct, there seems to
be no explanation
 
I have had this problem, it was to do with embedded
colour profiles within the image. If you assign no colour
profile to the image it should work. I used Adobe
Photoshop.

I've been troubled by this problem too for a while.
I had a feeling that Photoshop may have been the culprit but didn't think of
colour profiles.
That would explain why I couldn't pin it down to any item of hardware or
software.
Hopefully Steve R will pick this up...
