graphic simulation running cpu at 100%

Hello
not sure if this is right place for this post.
my windows 2000 pc has software that runs a graphic simulation i have recentely had an upgrade of the software, now pc is really slow to start the simulation and when i look at windows manager it is saying my cpu is running at 100% (only whilst it is waiting for simulation to start then it returns to 3-5%) how can i check everything is ok with graphic card what tests can i do.

The Software Is Called Easy Stone It Is A Cad Cam Package That Is Used On Cnc Machines In The Stone Industry I Was On V2.1 Upgraded To 4.1 The Company That Supplied Are Saying It Is My Graphics Card But I Do Not Think It Is
 
You know, it may help us, if, you can tell us what the hell PC is you have ... the company may be right and you have a crock of crap?
