Graph Problem

I have a one-record summary query which has 8 fields. I am trying to graph
these, in a report, so that each value shows up as a vertical bar, along the
X axis, and their values go up the Y axis.

I've used the charting wizards in Access unsuccessfully. Either they will
only accept 6 fields, not 8, or else they expect all values to be in a single
column. There seems to be no way to get a graph to do what I want.

I've toyed with the idea of somehow transposing my data from a single row of
8 fields to a single column of 8 records, however, this leaves off my field
names, which are critical as labels.

There must be some way to accomplish this, but I've spent hours on this with
no results. Yes, I've used the Help, the Web site, the Internet etc. but have
never come across anything close to what I'm trying to do.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Whip through the wizard and then make modifications after the fact. The 6
field limit is only in the wizard. You can set the number of fields by
modifying the Row Source property of the graph control.

I tried this. I can get only 7 of the 8 values into the chart, even though
the Row Source property specifies all 8 fields.

It would be useful if, in the Design window, Access showed a chart based on
real data rather than the "sample" data. Then I could see better what is
happening with it. This doesn't solve my particular problem, but Access
charts are inherently difficult, at best, to work with because of this.

Copy the graph control to a new, blank form. Set the graph control to
Locked=No and Enabled=Yes. View the form view and double-click the graph to
open the graph control editor. Make all the changes you want and exit the
graph control. Go back to the form design and you should see your data.

When your graph is how you want it, copy it back to your report.
