Graph datasheet text auto-formats?

A strange thing is happening to me in PP 2000 and XP. When I enter text into a graph datasheet, the text often auto-formats itself. It will generally swap between lower case and upper case for no reason. I have make VERY sure that I don't go near the "Caps-Lock" key. It happens on old files/templates and new files/templates. I'm stumped!!

Similarly, sometimes when I click on another cell to input data, I can't select any single cell. The datasheet behaves as if I am selecting multiple cells wherever I move the mouse. I have to exit the data sheet and go back in to disable this problem.

I've had this happen to me, but not in a long time. IIRC, it would
usually happen as I got lower on resources. Often just closing PPT and
reopening it would take care of it.

There's a system information thing in Windows you might check.
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information. IIRC, I
checked that once out of frustration, and it said, "Echo, your mouse
drivers are whacked." Reinstalling (or updating?) the mouse drivers
seemed to fix my problems with odd cases and cell selection in MS Graph.

You might give it a shot.
