Hi

I have two woorkbooks. ( Office 2000). One does not plot if X- catergories
have #N/A value. While other pltots. I dont know why this is happpening. Can
anyone help me with the setting for not plotting for #N/A.

Thanks

Sumit

My guess is that the one that does not plot is a "Line" chart instead of
an "XY (Scatter)" chart. The fix is to change the chart type.

"Line" charts are misleadingly named. They have nothing to do with
whether you want to connect your data points with a line, and everything
to with how x values are treated. In an "XY (Scatter)" chart, y is
plotted against x, where x is considered a numeric scale. In a "Line"
chart, y is plotted against 1,2,3,... (to force equal spacing) and
optional x values (if supplied at all) are merely category labels.

Sorry, that should have read that the one that DOES plot y-values
corresponding #N/A x values is a Line chart.
