Granularity of time-picker

I can't find any place to set it. I like to schedule meetings on the
quarter hour, frequently choosing, e.g., 11:45 for a lunch to "beat
the crowd". Obviously, I can enter that directly, but I'd like to be
able to do that when dragging a meeting, or clicking on a time in a
day view. In my setup, it defaulted to the nearest 1/2 hour
(presumably the standard default?).

Where is this parameter?

Customize Current View, Other Settings, Time Scale. Set it for 15 minutes

Thanks! I was looking in Tools/Options and Tools/Customize. Never
occurred to me to look in View.

But having set the 15-minute interval, I don't like the resulting view
(which has doubled in size rather than just adding extra detail). Any
way to compress the view vertically so I can see a whole day at once?

No, the only way to compress it is by changing the scale.

I was afraid that was the answer. Thanks for confirmation, though, so
I won't waste time looking.

Thanks for the help here. A follow up question: Is there any way to
make this change in the dropdown time picker in the appointment form?

No. you can type into the time fields though - 11a, 11.15 etc.

Thanks. That's what I have been doing, but knowing that I can use "."
instead of ":" as a separator will make it easier.

You can save more strokes - you don't usually need the dot or a (or p)
identifier. I use them out of habit, so I don't need to think as much or
retype if the time isn't right.
