IE6 keeps showing graining and fuzzy pictures as well as
grainy/fuzzy 'text pictures'.

Whats the problem???

I have this same problem. I previously had an HP and
used Internet Explorer with no problems. I bought a new
emachines 12 days ago and have had this problem when
using IE - the pictures look blurry/grainy/pixulated. It
doesn't do it when I use Netscape. I don't liKe Netscape
and want to use IE. Can anyone help???!!!

Ok - I think I figured out my problem. Maybe you have
the same issue. I have an earthlink e-mail address and
recently downloaded their "Accelerator". When I have
the "Accelerator" turned on it makes the pictures do
this. I deleted out the old temporary internet files
under "Tools/Internet Options/General/Delete Files" and
retried looking at the same web pages. I did not have
the problem when this program was turned off. Apparently
they must have some kind of issue with this program -
because it doesn't do it when I don't use it. It sucks,
because it was supposed to make things faster while on
the internet, but I'm not going to use it if that's what
the pictures look like. Boo! Do you use this same
program? If so...I bet that's your problem!

Ok - I'm getting ahead of myself - I guess I should read
things all the way before saying I won't use them. I was
new to using Earthlink's Accelerator program. I just
noticed that there is an "options" choice and you can
adjust how "graphics and ads" load. That also fixes the
problem!

No I don't. Infact I've never even heard of it so I guess
my problem is some thing else. I do have a new computer
though. A Dell laptop.

So I guess it's Netscape for now.

Cheers for you help anyway.

A Dell laptop you say?

How to Activate Scaling
Internet Explorer 6 and later automatically adjusts the scale on higher
resolution systems when the DPI setting is higher than 96 DPI and the
"UseHR" registry value is added to the registry. These are usually done by
the manufacturers of higher resolution systems.

Set the DPI
These are the steps for changing the DPI setting on your system.

Right-click the Windows desktop to display the context menu.
Click Properties on the context menu to display the Display Properties
dialog.
Click the Settings tab on the Display Properties dialog to display the
Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button on the Settings tab to display the monitor
properties dialog.
Select a DPI setting in the Display frame of the monitor properties dialog
to change the DPI setting.
Restart your system to allow the changes to take effect.

Run REGEDIT to add the UseHR Registry Entry
The UseHR value is added to the Main key under "Internet Explorer" as
follows:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Main
UseHR= dword:00000001

Hope this helps,
Don

Cheers,

I changed the DPI and IE works fine now.

I haven't done the following like you said though:

Run REGEDIT to add the UseHR Registry Entry
The UseHR value is added to the Main key under "Internet
Explorer" as
follows:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Main
UseHR= dword:00000001

I don't really get what I'm ment to do. Do I even have to
do it now that IE is working fine????

Cheers & Thankyou soooo much.

No. If you're happy with the display of images, you don't have to edit the
registry. Glad it's fixed.
