Running Outlook 20002 in WinXP Pro, I don't know what
happened but if an e-mail comes to me with graphics in it
like a GIF or a jpeg they do not show, only a square
indented box with a red x in the middle.

It's for all types of graphics because I checked the
source code on some of them and they are several different
file types. So it's not just a single type of graphic.

Could this be somethign related to my internet security
settings or something ??

Befuddled

Is this from one sender or all senders? If from one sender, they may
see the graphic when they link to it but it is a local link and
obviously your won't have the file or it isn't in the same path. If you
have any proxies inline with your e-mail client, like anti-spamware, it
might be stripping out the links from HTML-formatted e-mails to remove
web bugs (beacons) that let a sender (i.e., spammer) know when you've
opened their e-mail. If you have a firewall, disable it temporarily and
check if the images show up in your e-mails (clear the browser file
cache first). If you insert the href for the <IMG> tag (i.e., the URL)
for the graphic and copy it to the Address field in IE, can you then see
the graphic? If you enter the URL to the graphic and can't see it in IE
then you won't see it in Outlook.

I too have this problem and have found no help in any newsgroups.

I am running XPpro with Outlook 2000 sp3. All emails with inline
images come up with red x's. The urls for the images are correct, as
they do work in IE fine. Also, when opening the same emails off OWA
on the same PC, the images do open fine. Thus, it is my determination
the problem has something to due with Outlook's compatibility or
config with XPpro.

All other PCs on our network work fine... but all are W2K.
Other things: no firewall software or ad stopper software installed;
running through wireless card....

Any help would be appreciated.
