Gradient Backgrounds

I am running FP2002 under Windows 2000 Professional in conjunction with
Office 2000 on a laptop.

A gradient background could start with a very light aqua color and
transition into white near the bottom of the page. I would swear that
someplace in my Office training I ran across how to do this without
resorting to Photoshop (which I don't have) or a similar more powerful
product.

FP help points me to the Select picture->Drawing tool bar->fill-color
icon->right hand drop down arrow->"Click Fill Effects, and then click the
Gradient, Texture, Picture or Pattern tab. " The problem is, FP2002 is not
providing me with any of those things inside the quote marks.

What am I doing wrong? I would swear I have seen this before but can't get
FP2002 to display it. Have I screwed up the install?

Questions, suggestions, laughter (probably) are all in order...

Respectfully,
Tom (boy do I feel dumb today) Miller

You can create a gradient in page created in FrontPage using MSFT and IE proprietary light
filters.
However, they will only display in Internet Explorer.

It's best to create your gradient in an image application.

Or you can create it in a page and then take a screenshot and edit it in
an image editor.

Steve,
Thank you for the reply. I'm sorry but "MSFT" went right over my head. All
google does is connect it to being Microsofts stockmarket symbol... I guess
I better start poking arround to find a better image editor than MS's
photo-editor.... sigh...
Thanks,
