Hi All,

I've got a problem with group policies in Windows 2000 (SP2):

Some of my GPT are not replicated from the PDC Emulator (DC1) to the other
DC (DC2). (DC1 and 2 are in the same site.)

When I use AD Replication Monitor with DC2:
- The 'direct replication partner' DC1 has o Property Update USN of
2777303
- In the GPO Status window, most of the GPO have a 'Sync Status' set to
X and a SysVolVersion in error.

When I use AD Replication Monitor with DC1 (PDC):
- The 'direct replication partner' DC2 has o Property Update USN of
2096623

In Windows Explorer, Permissions on
\WINNT\SYSVOL\Sysvol\mydomain.com\Policies\
were wrong and reset automatically to 'Everyone' Full Control.
(same problems when I the Permissions to Full Control for Admins and System
accounts,
and Read & Execute to Authenticated Users group).

Does someone has an idea why GPT are missing on the second DC?
Must the USNs above be identical?
What means SysVolVersion ?

Thank you for your help!
Bruno

Your DNS is not set up correctly.
Have the server that isn't recieving the updates
point to your Primary DNS server.

See if that clears it up..

Thank you for your suggestion.
DNS settings shown by ipconfig/all seem good.
Automatic or manual replication seem to work since they are 'succefully
completed'.

But actually I discovered a very strange network configuration:
The PDC Emulator was moved recently in the rack and the Ethernet cable was
reconnected to the second NIC port which was configured with automatic IP
address (DHCP). I don't know why it kept the IP config of the first port...
Besides the 1st NIC port is not displayed any more in the network
connections settings, neither in the device manager list (where was replaced
by a miniport WAN PPTP!)! TCPIP
Maybe the problem comes from here. I'll keep you informed as soon as i can
reconfigure the NIC.
