Hi all. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good source for GPS freeware. I
have the usual suspects, EasyGPS, GPS Utility, etc... looking for the more
obscure utilities, if there are any.

This is probably not exactly what you're looking for, but it's nevertheless
a fascinating program. It's called USAPhotoMaps. www.jdmcox.com

Thanks, I picked that one up yesterday. It's quite a program, especially
considering its small size.

This looks neat, but is it free? And with all those JPGs of topo
maps, how large is it? It seems it would have to be 600MB or more.
Or does it pull JPGs off of Terraserver while you are running the
program (and thus have to be on the internet)?

Totally free.

It does pull maps from Terraserver. It's much better and easier to use than
Web-based Terraserver map viewing. Once the pictures are downloaded, they
stay on your HDD for instant viewing later. The files are small, but
numerous. The folders can get large, so download only the specific areas you
need.
