I set up a W2K server with Active Directory. Added and OU
and users and computers. Created a simple GPO to not show
RUN in start menu. However when I log onto the server as
the user the GPO is applied. So my problem is why is my
GPO's not applying to computers on the Domain.

Any help thanks.....

Deeman.

From the info you have given, I'm not sure what the
problem is.

On what OU is your Group Policy object linked? Is it at
the Domain object level, or at the OU level? If at the OU
object, are all the user objects residing in that OU? Is
there a policy already set at the Domain level that would
overwrite the 'run' policy you set at the OU object?
Are user configuration settings disabled by chance?

Does your dns-server work correct?

Try on a workstation at the commandprompt NSLOOKUP.
If the result is not the servername then the primairy dns
settings on the client are wrong ( must be the ip of the
server) or your dns is not workking properly. After
setting up your server you have to make the revers-lookup-
zone and put in the name of the server.
Only if when NSLOOKUP give you the name of the server then
group policy will have effect.
I searched a mounth on that problem.
Good luck!
