Could someone explain to me the differences between the 4 possible GPO
statuses:

1 - Enabled.
2 - User configuration settings disabled. *
3 - Computer configuration settings disabled.*
4 - All settings disabled.

I think the first and the last are pretty self-explanatory but I cannot seem
to find a clear definition of #2-3 and what implications they have if they
are set on a particular policy. Appreciate any help.

Howdie!

I'll try. The first and the last seem to be clear so I'll leave them
out. If you have questions about them, let me know.
2 - User configuration settings disabled. *

Simply means that everything you configured under the "User
Configuration" node in this policy will not be processed. Clients will
not look at it. This can be used to speed up policy processing a little
or for testing purposes if you simply need to "undo" all settings you
did on the "user side" of the policy. Computer Configuration of the
policy will be processed, though.
3 - Computer configuration settings disabled.*

This is analog to "User configuration settings disabled". The Computer
Configuration-side of the policy is not regarded and not processed.
Machines act like there are not settings defined. User configuration of
the policy will be processed, though.

cheers,

Florian

Hi Florian! In retrospect, I really should have guessed that one...but thank
you kindly for spelling it out for me!
