Hi,

I'm getting thse errors with the event id 1000 Source
Userenv
The Group Policy client-side extension Folder Redirection
was passed flags (0) and returned a failure status code of
(5)

I'm unable to find a reference to this to fix.

I have one other problem that I'm stummped on, for some
reason the DC does not implement Password Policy, it still
uses the default settings of 1 password history, 0 minimum
password length. I did find some errors which I have
corrected which were in relation to IWAM and IUSR
believing these were the cause but that has not fixed it
either.

Hello Stan.

Error 5 means "access denied"

Log on as a user who is giving this error and see if they create and delete
files from the folder you are redirecting to, if not give appropriate
permissions.

Look at the following keys to see which folders are eing redirected:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

HKEY_Current_User\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

For issue 2 keep in mind that password polices only apply at the Domain
level.

Hi Buz,

Thanks for that, but I'm still having problems with issue
2, Domain Secuirty Policy and Domain Controller Security
Policy have the correct password policy settings. In
Local Security Settings Pasword Policy has the same Local
Settings, and Effective Settings is set to Not Defined.
Any ideas as to where I go from here.

Password polices only apply when linked at the Domain Level, so is your
custom "Domain Security" Policy at the Domain Level or at the Domain
Controller Level?
