Hi,

I have a GPO assigined to an OU. The policy permissions are set against a
test group with several members within this group. When I look at the users
desktops the GPO is not being applied - and GPO processing is occuring. Note
the users live in a different OU to where the GPO is applied, but I am
guessing the permissions and hence the policy would see the GPO applied to
the group and apply regardless of where the user object resides. Help? have
i got things wrong?

That's wrong. You have to both link the GPO to the OU where the user
accounts (not security groups!) are located in and have at least "Read"
and "Apply Group Policy" permissions assigned (default) to the users.

Policies linked to OUs with no objects will not affect anything.

cheers,
