Hi,

I have a problem that I hope I can get some help on. I have created a GPO
and linked it to my users OU. This GPO prevents "Kazaa" from running on my
network. This GPO does work on my WindowsXP machine but not on my Windows
2000 Professional SP4 machine. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Hi,

Some Group Policies apply only to XP. Check the Group Policy for
specifics. However, if it is a software restriction policy, it will
only work on XP. You can block the .exe file from running for Windows
2000 (don’t allow these windows programs to run) if the file has the
specific name. However, if they change the name of the .exe then it
can run.

Hello,
The executable I am trying to block does not change to my knowledge. It is
the executable for Kazaa. I added the executable to the "Do not allowed
specified programs to run" option in Group Policy.
