I'm trying to separate my XP and W2k clients into 2 different GPO's
for SP application purposes, and thought it would be easier than this.
I've read MS KB's 278472, 224330, 262638, 302430, but things aren't
working out.
My procedure:
1. Create an OU for each computer type
2. Create a group in each OU to hold computer accounts
3. Move computer's into appropriate OU's, and add them to
aforementioned group
4. Create a test user in each OU for testing purposes
5. Create test group for test user to be a member of
6. Add GPO to OU
7. Granted computer group read and apply policy permissions to GPO (
the only accounts listed are Domain & Enterprise Admins, and the
system account, and of course, the added computer group... )
I know I'm missing a step here, but I don't even get a logged event on
the machine to indicate that the GPO is even being read. I've checked
the machines permissions on the share successfully by using "at mytime
/interactive cmd" and listed directory contents.
Any poking or prodding in the appropriate direction would be
appreciated.
Thanks.
