I am going crazy trying to find where in the GPO Management Console I
saw this...

I could have sworn I saw somewhere where you can enter a list of
approved (or disapproved) exe files, and when the GPO is applied, the
end user would get an error message when trying to run an unapproved
EXE. Can anyone help me find it? Thanks!

Open the GPO you need to edit then navigate to :

User Configuration>>Administrative Templates>>System>>Don't run specified
windows applications

just need the name of the .exe to restrict. Only works on XP/2003

My fault chris,

I was thinking of software restriction policies to restrict file types. yes
this does work on 2000 as well.

Excellent, thank you very much! Is there any "map" to help navigate
where things are in the GPO editing MMC? Maybe a search function with
keywords? I suppose as I use it more and more, I'll just learn my way
around. Thanks again!
