I've seen all the posts on how to disable parts of Media Player. But is
there a way to disable the app all together. I need a way to disable the app
for some users but not all.

Thanks for any help in advance.

If you have XP workstations, then you could use Software Restriction Policy
to explicitly disallow the Media Player executable.

Thanks for the fast reply. Wasn't really expecting that. Anyways, where is
the software restriction policy at?

Thanks again

Computer (or User) Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Software
Restriction Policy

You could also use User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Don't
run specified Windows applications, though its not as iron-clad as Software
Restrictions because a user could just rename the Media Player exe to get
around this particular policy.
