Please help!

I have a customer that around 3000 GPO's. I have been struggling with
collecting all the settings the GPO's have collectively. I need to import
all the settings from each GPO into one DB (MS Access db). The main purpose
is to determine what settings are being set mostly throughout the domain. The
goal is to consolidate to a much smaller amount of GPO.

I have been using the GPMC and the scripts that are included. I am able to
get XMl versions of the GPO but can not import them into Access with any
meaningful structure. I have tried the same with the html format too.

Are there any tools out there MS or third parties that do what I am asking?
Is there a way to dump the contents of a GPO into a format that MS Access can
import?

Switch over to use of SQL 2005, even the free Express version,
as SQL speaks XML natively, although you would need to do
some schema definition work. Alternatively, use msxml object
to read in the XML and target your Access mdb from there with
ADODB (same need to define structures in Access).

PS. I guess I did not directly say it, but IMO you are on the
correct (and only from MS itself) track, ie. using the xml as
obtained from the api introduced with GPMC release.
