GPO bug in Windows 2000 after Sp4

So I have DC with Sp4 applied. I want my GPO to support Windows XP
settings. So I tried to apply XP adm templates when I was at my DC
console. BUT NOTHING GETS APPLIED. I can try thousand times. What is
wrong here? Another bug or is it my mistake. I compared this behaviour
with DC with Sp3 applied. There was nothing similar on this DC. So is it
a bug or not? There is an advice to update GPO from XP station. But I
think this advice is useless because if someone tries to open mmc
console directly from DC, all XP settings are simply DISCARDED and
policy is reverted to initial settings. So, Microsoft, what's is going
here? Is there any patch or something? I tried to copy XP adm files to
winnt\inf folder on these DC over the old ones and after that - nothing
gets reverted. So my question is - is it possible to ressolve this
problem?

You will need to edit the policies from an XP client. If you do not then
the XP ADM files will be overwritten when you edit the policy from a Windows
2000 DC. The behavior is explained in the following article "Recommendations
for Managing Group Policy Administrative Template (.adm)
Fileshttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;816662"

I know that I must do this from XP and if I'll do this task from 2000 I'll
lost XP settings. But my question was - are you going to left this "good
feature" by design in Windows 2000 or are you going to release some kind of
patch to correct this nonsense? Maybe this is another Microsoft enforcement to
move customers to XP and W2k3 server?:)
