Hi All,

I have this strange situation. In the Default Domain
Policy I have enabled following under "\User
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and
Taskbar":
- Add Logoff to Startmenu
- Remove and Prevent Access to the Shutdown command
- Remove and disable the Turn Off Computer button
These settings were enabled to prevent all users, except
for the local admins. The funny thing is that on some
servers these settings are applied for the local admins
also. To be sure that the local admin really logs on
locally I executed this command: "echo %logonserver%"; the
output is indeed the local server, so the administrator is
locally logged on. The output of "gpresult /S /U" for the
local admin on these servers states that the group policy
was applied from the domain controller! In my opinion this
is not what should happen when logging on locally. Does
anyone has a clue on what is going wrong? Of the 45
servers in the domain, only 4 servers have this behaviour.

ThanX in Advance,

Gregory

i think what u should do is not to apply the settings to Default Domain Policy, but create an OU and a new GPO, apply to the new GPO and move your users to the OU instead.
