No Firewalls.
GPMC is installed onto the workstation, currently logged into the domain,
using an account that is listed as belonging to both the Administrators, and
the Domain Admins group in AD.
Both computers are running the RPC service.
GPMC refuses to see the forest, and attempting to manually add the forest
returns a RPC error. From memory its "RPC Service Unavailable" However, it
was able to find the FQDN from the short domain SDC.
Also installed on this same workstation is the 2003 Administration Kit, and
every function of the administration kit, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WINS
is accessible, likewise with other MMC consoles - Event Logs, Services and
Shares are accessible.
