GP Software Install on Cluster

I have found that I cannot use our Cluster Server to host
files for a GP Software Installation!

I have the exact same configuration for the share and file
permissions on a standard Windows 2000 Server as I do on
our Cluster. It only works on the standard Server, no the
Cluster server.

What in the world is going on here? MVP's where are you?
What is up with this?

Thanks!

Rob-

I'm not sure what's wrong here. Where did you read this? You can cluster
file servers, just have a common storage array. The GP install path would be
\\clustername\sharename...

Brian,

I am experiencing this, not reading this. It is an
active/passive cluster, comprised of 2 servers running
Windows 2000 Advanced. I'm going to test today sharing
the install files directly on the active node to see if it
makes a difference. If so, I'd have to believe there is
something wrong with our cluster configuration, or this is
a more wide-spread problem.

I'll keep you post. Thanks for the response.

Brian,

I have conferred with some of my past associates.
Apparently one of them ran into this same exact problem
just a short time ago. They contacted MS support, who did
not find it in their KB. Apparently it is being
researched further.

What they found was that the GPO is not cluster aware and
is providing the path to the active node instead. They
found this through the debug logs, but were not able to
provide a fix.

Thanks for your input,
Rob
