Hi Gurus

I have a problem whereby I can push down proxy settings to my entire domain
via GP and it works great.

I can configure the proxy server (a web caching server/URL filter)

BUT - the user can still deslect the checkbox "use a prxy server for your
LAN" and bypass it. Granted it will still be enabled the next time they
logon, they can continue to disable.

Can this option be set as to not allow any user to tamper with?

HELP!

Ian,

Im not positive but i belive you can edit the policy User
Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Internet
Explorer->Internet Control Panel->Disable the Connections page
and set that policy to enable.

Also in my experience when they close the internet explorer window and open
a new one the proxy settings re apply themself, however this does not stop
them from doing it again.

Good Luck
Andy

Also taking a quick look at AD policys you can totally disable IE
Customizing by disabling access to the tools->internet options menu by
setting the following policy to enabled

User Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Internet
Explorer->Browser Menus->Tools menu:Disable Ineternet Options..menu option
Properties

good luck

Thanks!
