GoTo Date x days from today

I want to set due dates based on number of days or months from today. How to
I jump forward? backward (45 days prior)? Thanks in advance.
 
type 45d in the date field. Backwards is a bit harder - it doesn't accept -
(minus sign) so you need to type in 'before'.
