I have a HP 940C connected to a P4 WinXP box via USB. Every so often the
computer will slow down to a crawl. It won't crash, it just runns slooooow.
I have traced it back to a HP printer driver file ; "hpztsbq3.exe", I think
that's how it's spelled. Anyway, opening task manager finds this file
consuming 98% of the CPU with nothing running except the stuff on the tray.
If I "end task" for this file the computer again operates normally. Can
someone tell me what is going on here? I have downloaded the most recent
drivers from HP and the problem still exists.

Thanks for any help!
Phil

What is your spool setting? Win98's
print spooler is designed to prevent
exactly your problem.

Actually yes I did that but did not disconnect the printer before I
rebooted. I suspected the old drivers were reloaded but was not sure how to
tell.
