I just installed Google Toolbar on my pc at work (running 2000,
IE6)...it caused the search speed to grind almost completely to a
halt, and more often than not, caused IE to freeze up completely, so
I've now uninstalled it.
From what I can gather from postings in Groups, I am the only person
on the planet to whom this has happened (on the up-side, it's nice to
be unique, I guess...)
Can anyone tell me why this should be?
TIA,
Toby

Have you checked the machine for any sum wear

Is it version 2.0 or the beta 1.7? Did you disable your anti-virus
application and close all running processes prior to installing it?

Check your system for "hijackware".

Dealing with Hijackware

HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) is the
preferred tool to use these days. It will help to both identify and remove
any hijackware/spyware. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
