hi forum members...

I made my 'Personal Folders' (what ever that is...) a Google account.

an email messaged 'Microsoft Office Outlook Test Message' was received in
the 'inbox' of my Google account via the net.

in Outlook 07. I've got no emails in my 'inbox', but on the net I have
emails in Google.

I have tried 'Tools' menu > Send/Receive > Send/Receive All. although am not
quite sure what this does.

all help would be most greatly appreciated.

best regards.

Paul.

What type of Outlook account did you create, POP or IMAP?

thank you for a response.

I created a POP account.

Did you follow the instructions on gmail's Help pages to enable POP serving
for the account?

hi Brian

I checked Gmail's Help Files
and the problem is SOLVED.

only missing 1 email...

in OL in the 'Sent Items' folder
I have 1 email...

....but not in Gmail in the 'Sent Mail's'
folder.

I thank you for your help, time and
advice.

much appreciated.

best.

POP access is one-way only and cannot recognize any server folders except for
Inbox. Outlook's Sent Items folder is local only when sending via a POP/SMTP
account and its contents won't be synched with the Sent folder on the server.
It can't. If you want the synchronization of that folder to take place, you
should convert your Gmail account to an IMAP account. Then you'll have all
your mail folders synchronized and messages you send in Outlook can be stored
on the server.

I've made my OL Gmail a/c 'IMAP/SMTP' (although it was a 'POP' at first)
and enabled 'IMAP' in Gmail on the net...

....is this what you mean.

....still not syncing new folders made in OL.

all help and advice valued and respected.

best.

Works for me. If you create a folder under the [GMAIL] hierarchy, it should
show up on the server. I've done it.

YES, I done that...

....not got a 'Junk Email' folder.

help.

hi Brian...

....YES.

I missed a few settings...
and got the hang of it...

where's my 'junk folder'...

best forever.

Paul.

where's my 'junk folder'...

Google Mail uses a folder named "SPAM". There will be another that Outlook
supplies named "Junk E-mail", but depending on the root that you use for the
IMAP account, it may not appear on the server.

hi Brian

thanks many times for your
expertise and for your reply.

what route do I need to take
to get my 'junk folder'.

how routes are there...

best as always.

Paul.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the question. The Junk E-mail folder will
appear in your Navigation Pane just like your Inbox, Sent Items, Outbox, and
all the other mail folders.

hi Brian

I've just got my 'Inbox', 'Search Folders'
and folders that I create and nothing else.
but depending on the root that you use for the
IMAP account, it may not appear on the server.

what 'root' do I need...how to do it right...

best ever.

Paul.
