I can load any of those sites in IE but if I click on the search button and
most of the links nothing happens. The sites work fine from FireFox.

Any ideas?

Hi SkiOne :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Go to Start>Run> and register the following dll's by using
regsvr32 command. Try the first 2, then see if it resolves the problem. If
not then register the rest of the .dll's:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll?
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll?
regsvr32 msxml.dll?
regsvr32 mshtml.dll?
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll?
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll?

If that doesn't work, then check out the following article and do the
additional steps outlined there:

Hi SkiOne,

If the search button is not working, then most likely you need to update
your scripting engine.

You can try updating your scripting engine. The latest scripting engine can
be found at:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp

(98, ME, NT4.0) For 2000 and XP go to

Thank you both for your excellent suggestions!

It ends up the problem is a corrupt ActiveX program:

I disabled it and IE is working again.
