Google page looks different, why?

Recently my web pages displaying pages from Google groups look very
different example the main info lines is displayed on the right side
of the screen.
This is rather difficult to read lots of information quickly.
I tried changing settings and run untivirus software but no change.
Could something have changed in the "Internet Explorer" setting?
