Don't hold your breath. Google will be on low powered laptops and PC's. I
am sure Google will have an impact on the industry but Microsoft will be at
the helm for many years to come. Don't sell all your Microsoft stock just
yet.

Chrome OS will be made to run on laptops and desktops as well. Both Chrome
OS and Ubuntu (and other Linux distros) will make the Internet safer while
we have been waiting for almost two years for MS to get off its ass and
patch IE6 and 7 for the latest vulnerability:
What makes my thing swing is that Google will make it so EVERYONE will
know what Linux is.

Bill said:So they are starting with netbooks. BFD. The funny thing is that it's
Linux. Nobody likes linux.
False.
They have an up hill battle but being GOOGLE, they just might get 2% of the
desktops!
Won't that be a HOOT?
And everyone will know what a piece of crap Linux really is.
Frank said:So what? Other than the name "google" attached to it, nothing is new. If
you've followed the netbook history, many that had linux pre-installed
were returned because the users wanted Windows. Netbooks were conceived
to be inexpensive so that economically depressed persons could use them
by connecting to the Internet, which makes no sense at all because the
cost of connecting to the Internet is like an additional monthly utility
bill.
Recently netbooks have become popular because of their potability,
weighing 2-4 lbs and the users now want full laptop functionality.
So what the market effect of attaching the name "goolge" to an already
existing os than has had 20+ yrs to become popular and failed is yet to
be seen.

Duck said:No, No.
That can't be right.
According to the linux advocates, you don't use linux because you've
never heard of it.
Or, you must just be a mindless Windroid.
The fact that you have tried linux, and find it to be low quality,
1980's era software, never crosses their free-loading minds.
And, those linux users are a stupid bunch.
They can't get a Windows box hooked up to the net for more than 5
minutes without getting viruses and downloading all kinds of malware.

If that were true, and everyone who has ever sampled it knows it isn't
true, then you wouldn't have to be spending all of your time in here,
day in and day out, bashing Windows.
Fact is, you're just a hate filled lying linux troll. You're jealous of
Windows and you're sick in your little useless brain.
