Google links work, but at a price

I posted the 1st message on this thread and have been trying different things.

I took Google out of "Trusted Sites" and now the links work. I tried
putting other websites (microsoft.com included) in the "Trusted Sites" and
the links stopped working until the websites were removed from "Trusted
Sites."

Unfortunately, websites that are not in "Trusted Sites" casuse that annoying
yellow banner with the exclamation point to appear at the top of the page.
This has to be clicked on and then another window comes up that has to be
clicked on.

Does anybody have any suggestions for dealing with that yellow banner that
protects against Active X stuff?

Thanks,

Mike

That yellow banner is there for your protection. I would think that moving
sites from Trusted to other security levels is far more work than just
following on what the bar is suggesting which takes 2-3 seconds!

P.S. I'm not sure about the links not working question, I've never had that
happen. Sorry!

Peter,
I don't mind clicking on the yellow banner, but sometimes it becomes a real
nuisance. For example, I was notified of your response in my e-mail and
given a link. When I clicked on that link, the page initially appeared, but
then was erased as the yellow banner came up. I clicked on the yellow banner
as I always do, but the page was still gone. The back button was greyed out.

I could not get the link from e-mail to work until I put microsoft.com on my
Trusted Sites list. Of course, once I did that, no link from microsoft.com
would work.

There seems to be a bug. Placing a website in the Trusted Sites location
shouldn't cause links to malfunction.

Thanks,

Mike
