Can you believe it, Google is now 7 years old! I remember using Altavista and yahoo, but google way surpassed them at the time! :D

Is everyone here a googler, or does anyone prefer Teoma/AJ/AV/Yahoo etc...?

I remember Altavista.

I only use Google now, tbh, usually find what I'm looking for.

Google all the way nowadays, as Flops said it finds most everything that others seem to miss out on. :)

Another Google fan.

... and just to be boring, it works in Linux too and you can check your Gmail with the Notifier. :D

I Google daily just for fun sometimes couldn't be without it.

Some people gargle everyday, some Google this certainly proves times have changed :D:D:D

You can tell how big it has become - it has even become a verb! ("Do you google?" "Try googling it" "I googled that" etc)

:D

Are there any other search engines? :D

Ha ha, good point! ;)

It never even occurs to me to use anything but Google... no wonder they're doing so well

I see Ian mentioning Altavista, but if you mention that name to some newer web recruits these days, they just look at you as though you shouldn't be outside by yourself!

Ah for the good old days (Not!);)

Yup, I don't know anyone that uses AV now! (I use their translator still ;))

Everything you always wanted to know about search engines but asked about it only now!

Here you go pal, this is it.:)

Search engines
OMG! Is there nothing you can't find on the web these days. Admit it though, which search engine did you use to find an article on search engines?:D

GOOGLE! The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God :D

I've always liked dogpile, Google is a bit ugly to look at and dogpile is a bit easier on the eyes and is a decent little search engine. But Google has become the only search engine anyone will use pretty much, it's great to have that little google search bar intergrated into Firefox. If you can't find what your surfing for on Google you won't find it anywhere!
