Google.com won't load

Dave W.

Broadband connection using IE 6 in WinME (I know...), and
Google won't load. Any and all other pages load fine, but
the icon spins and the progress bar starts building, and
after 20-25 seconds I get "The page cannot be displayed"
 
There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).

If you have a problem with all the other search engines then:

Be sure that you install hotfix 828750 which fixes the exploit that this
virus uses:
