On my laptop (XP pro) I upgraded to the latest IE and it has a "Google "
place on it. It asks me to sign up to access my bookmarks. I don't want to
sign in, or sign up for this just go to them. How do I dump this and just
have a IE bookmarks? I don't like Google tracking me.

Hi,
This is a Google feature available through their toolbar or via the web
through a Google account.
See http://www.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=8416
You don't have to use this feature. Internet Explorer Favorites will work
just as they always have.

More on the Google toolbar at
http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/static.py?page=features.html&hl=en&v=4

You can uncheck the Google toolbar from IE> View> Toolbars or uninstall if
from Control Panel> Add or remove programs.

Hope this helps,
