Goofy problem

This is embarrassing and I'm tempted to post under another name. I readily
admit I know enough to be dangerous.

I need some FP help. I'm using FP2003 to maintain a website. I've made new
changes before and had no problems. I can currently make changes to existing
pages and they go thru just fine. BUT......... I tried making a new page and
when I do a preview, it's blank. When I save the file to the web, all I have
is background. I don't get it. Why is it in Design view and Split view, it's
fine but Preview it's gone?

The only change I know of is that my webhost had to change servers recently.
Could this be the cause? If so, why does it only affect new pages and why
can't I preview it in FP on my system?
 
It's probably something simple, like a missing </style> tag. That will do
it. I've had this happen to me, and that was the cause.

OH NO!!! I proudly use FrontPage for my website. I believe in using the
right tool for the job. :-)

If you're previewing it on your local machine, then the change of server at
your host would not be the cause.
You should really be editing on your local machine, then publishing the
changes.
 
and JoAnn is an MVP...so she should know best!

In FP 2003 try Tools Browser Compatibility and selected or opened page (html pages)
- will usually point out a missing closing tag

PS
if you have any scripts or css make sure you don't have any open comment tags that are not closed

I don't do scripts or CSS's. I'll see what I can find out. It's quite
frustrating.

I had this happen to me today, but maybe not the same way you did. I
added some roll over java to the head and then didn't put anything in
the body for it to run, thus a totally blank screen. Removed the roll
over java and page loaded right up.

View it HTML view, copy all the text to Notepad and save it as
"temp.html" with the quotes to prevent Notpad form add .txt ot it.

Then use an HTML validator to validate the HTML.

If you are are using external stylrsheest, check the code there, too.
