Good Stealth Action Titles?

Splinter Cell, At first i dident like the game until i tried it, This game is awsome!!

I would definatly give Splinter Cell a try, addictively challenging, played through it on normal and then straight after started it on hard :) .

I would highly recommend Socom II : US Navy Seals for the PS2 combined with a PS2 network adaptor for online gaming.

Similar game to counter strike although the AI is better and you communicate using USB Headset.

Chris,

hmmmmm. No PS2 :(

But my emphasis is on avoiding the enemy rather than killing them up. Is Splinter Cell like that?
Not being seen and killing from ambush...

Hey Erebon, Its like that, mostly killing only when nessesary. you either avoid the guards or sneak behind them and knock them out. then carry the body into the darkness so know one can see him.

Gotta say, in my opinion HL2 is not a stealth game. There are some elements of stealth invlolved, but not much. I'd say it's most defininitely an fps game. And possibly the best one ever made :)

I'm not keen on stealth games meself, I remember playing the first Thief game, drove me nuts. Always tense and leaning out me seat lol, wound me right up.

Nah, I like to blast everything in sight :D

That's the same approach i have to gaming,

Even on Socom II (even though i haven't mastered it) instead of going stealth, i just rifle anything in sight :)

Chris,

Splintercell, here I come!

How about Farcry? I read a review which somehow pointed out that you'd "have to stay out of sight in dense Foiliage":)

Project IGI and Project IGI 2 are both pretty shallow FPS titles to be honest, never liked them in any aspect :/.

As for you mentioninf Far Cry earlier, well that is a very classy title. I actually prefer it to Half Life 2 :o. You can be as stealthy or as loud as you want. Its all up to you ;).

I actually gave up on Far Cry some months ago but came back to it last week after a fresh install and started from the beginning again. The first time I ws playing, I got stuck on 'Regulator' which is level seven.

Playing on normal, I managed to get up to that level again in one evening and wondered what I'd thought was so hard the first time around.

I'm now up to Archive, which is level Twelve (how many levels I got to the end then?).

In my opinion, it is one very classy game, easily on level pegging with HL2 imo, but I also think it's very hard. It's also very frustrating in places as there's no save feature, except the auto save, and you don't know when that's going to happen.

I've played many scenes over and over again because of this, very frustrating.

Good thing about Far Cry is there are many ways to go about many levels, one route may prove very very hard, whilst another may allow you to pick off the enemy one by one before they even see you.

So, getting back to the original subject of the thread, Far Cry is as Stealth as you want it to be (just like reef said). I reckon the more stealth you use, the more chance you have of making it to the next Save point.

Really, really good game though, me is loving it :D

I'm glad it meets your approval sir ;).

I couldnt tell you how many levels it has off the top of my head, id go check but im only on the regulator myself since i formatted :/.

Its pretty long for a FPS though, definatly worth playing a few times over and i cant wait for number 2 to come out! Though that "Stalker" is lookin bloomin good aswell.

Yup. STALKER seems to be great, at least according to those previews arround... Farcry... Yeppers, but I'm still waiting for my Mobo:(

Well thanks anyhoo
="D
