Buy the game. It's like what now under £20.

Seriously dude - the PC gaming market is in enough of a state at the moment,
with developers folding nearly weekly, the guys at Firaxis actually do make
good games unlike a lot of other companies *cough* EA *cough* so show your
support.

This newsgroup is not to be used for piracy. The question you ask is illegal
and is not supported by Microsoft or any of the game Companies trying to
make a living. For that matter any Software developement company would frown
at this question. It cuts into there profit margin and for each game
purchased if several are pirated they they will not make the money needed to
keep their doors open. Software games are not open source code that you can
use just because someone else brought it into your home. If you like
something it is well worth buying. Please support those programs you like.

You're backing up the CD to avoid buying the game.

That's why copy protection is forced upon consumers, and
legitimate owners of software suffer as a result. Piracy just
like shop lifting ends up costing the legitimate consumers...

Please don't add to the problem, be part of the solution. :-)

You already posted that you installed the game on your computer
and want to copy the CD because your Uncle is leaving with it.

Buy your own copy of the game. The CD is copy protected to
prevent multiple copies of one CD from being used like that against
the end user licence agreement. It's unauthorised and it's illegal.

Everything that's been said here pretty much covers the issue. The bottom
line is that it's illegal to have software that was purchased for one
machine to also be loaded onto another machine at the same time. Even if
you're not actually USING the software simultaneously, it's still in
violation of copyright and usage terms and laws. There is still some
controversy over the rights to have one's own personal copy to keep in case
of loss or damage to the original, but again, it's illegal unless otherwise
specified in the software's terms of agreement that a copy for such use can
be made.

In other words, if you go to a store and steal goods from the store, as long
as the goods are for your own personal use, that's not stealing. It's
illegal regardless of for what purpose you plan to use it and since you've
already said you were looking for a crack to not only copy it but play it.

"It's not like you're going to get arrested or anything???" I guess you
haven't been paying attention to the latest actions by the recording and
film industries. Users are now being targeted and the fact you can get away
with an act doesn't make the act legal.

You had enough money to buy a computer, you mean you can't spend the modest
amount it would take to purchase this game legally?

well my view is i have already spent loads on the computer so why spend
money on something when i dont have to, i mean i probably will buy it some
time but right now i just dont have the extra funding available to me to
purchase the game, but still want to enjoy the fantastic playability of the
game, i will buy a copy this year so it isnt like i wont be paying money to
company which already gets loads from all its other games and stuff, but
nevermind that because i will buy the game anyways

So now you're saying it's all right to steal from people, corporations, etc.
who we think have a lot of money.

Well, I'm glad to hear you're going to spend the money anyway.

There is NO justification for what you were trying to do.

well my view is i have already spent loads on the computer so why spend
money on something when i dont have to, i mean i probably will buy it some
time but right now i just dont have the extra funding available to me to
purchase the game, but still want to enjoy the fantastic playability of
the game, i will buy a copy this year so it isnt like i wont be paying
money to company which already gets loads from all its other games and
stuff, but nevermind that because i will buy the game anyways

In other words, if you go to a store and steal goods from the store, as
long as the goods are for your own personal use, that's not stealing.
It's illegal regardless of for what purpose you plan to use it and since
you've already said you were looking for a crack to not only copy it but
play it.

"It's not like you're going to get arrested or anything???" I guess you
haven't been paying attention to the latest actions by the recording and
film industries. Users are now being targeted and the fact you can get
away with an act doesn't make the act legal.

You had enough money to buy a computer, you mean you can't spend the
modest amount it would take to purchase this game legally?

You already posted that you installed the game on your computer
and want to copy the CD because your Uncle is leaving with it.

Buy your own copy of the game. The CD is copy protected to
prevent multiple copies of one CD from being used like that against
the end user licence agreement. It's unauthorised and it's illegal.

Cheers,
Jimmy.

| i wasnt backing it up to avoid buying it i was doing it for my uncle
