Three things, you need, AntiSpyware, AntiVirus and a good FireWall.

You can start by downloading the latest build of Microsoft AntiSpyware here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en

You should also download these thirdparty AntiSpyware utilities and use in
conjunction with Microsoft AntiSpyware, since Microsoft AntiSpyware is still
beta and does not track cookies/dataminers:
Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html
Spy Sweeper - www.webroot.com
Ccleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com

For AntiVirus, there are few out there that can help, this includes AVG,
Trend Micro or even retail brands such as Norton and Macfee:
Here are two:

Firewall, - If you running Windows XP SP2, you have a good enough Firewall
already in the Windows FireWall, but here two others you can always try:
Zone Alarm: -http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/
